There's always a first time for everything and everyone right? baby's first steps, first tooth, first word, first smile... and we make sure that we keep something to remember it by someday, a picture perhaps or a video or just a memory posted in the depths of our hearts, for me this is my very first post here in LJ and i just want to make it special not only because I decided to put into words my thoughts for the world to read, but also because I want to prove to myself that I can be a good writer, yes I'm a frustrated writer, one of the thousand things I'd like to do in my life, but I'll talk about myself more and more every time I post so I don’t get to blow away one's mind in just one sitting.
Posting here isn’t the only thing that happened to me for the first time today; it was also my first time to experience Halloween in a different place, in Ireland, sadly though it was not like what I have pictured it to be, the one scenario stuck in my mind was a lot of people dressed up in different kinds of costumes knocking in every door there is along the street asking for candies and other goodies while saying the phrase “trick or treat” over and over, was it because I didn’t get out of the apartment not until 6 pm, (it’s still early right) or maybe they just don’t practice the holiday not as much as the other countries do. In the Philippines we don’t observe it all, what we do there is we visit the cemeteries and dedicate the day with our departed loved ones, and I bet it never crossed your mind that a solemn cemetery can be transformed into something different in just one snap, it turns into a picnic area, a bar, sometimes a casino, a fashion runway, etc. I don’t really know what people think when they visit their departed loved ones; it could be that it is a perfect timing for the family members to gather or an ideal day for teenagers to flaunt themselves hoping to hook up with someone. Isn’t it supposed to be the day to commemorate the dead?
Anyways, I did mention that I got out on the street around 6 pm that’s because my sister together with my nephew and me will go to a small Filipino gathering for a mass since it’s also the last day of the month of the rosary dedicated to mother Mary and also after the mass was a small program where in kids get to dressed up in costumes (finally costumes, but still no knocking on doorsteps trick or treating) a little dancing and it did not surprised me at all that I felt bored, I don’t know if being anti social really is getting the best of me or it’s just that I don’t like the people around me, yes I know they’re just the same J
It’s so freaking cold and there were instances that I chill in the wee hours of the day and I’m not exaggerating coz again it’s my first time to experience this kind of cold, a natural one, nothing compared to air conditioners. I like cold but not too much, speaking of which vampires are cold too, and yet again I’m one of those twilighters I’m currently in book 4, the wedding part and I’m so excited to continue reading it and I’m sure I will sleep late.
So enough blabbering for now…
